Valentine's Day Gift Ideas

Valentine's Day Gift Ideas

Valentine’s Day is around the corner and getting a gift that lets your partner know just how loved they are can feel like a daunting task.  We always say it’s the thought that counts, but we also know how much a meaningful gift is appreciated.  Flowers and chocolates are great, but make this year the year that you “WOW!” your loved one.  We have just the right gift in mind that we’re pretty sure any partner would love to receive.

Let’s start with the idea of a hand prepared gift basket. They’re the perfect gift because you can choose what size you want to start with and fill it with items that your partner will love, showing that you know their old favorites while throwing in some new surprises, too. Gift baskets open up a realm of possibilities and take the pressure off of you to find just that one perfect gift.

Get a Basket

To fill a basket, you need a basket. Pick something that can be used beyond the gift. If your husband loves tailgating, start with a cooler as your base. If your girlfriend hoards throw blankets, start with a modern wicker basket that she can store them in.

Pick a Theme

Figure out what you want to put into the basket. You can fill it up with their favorite snacks, gadgets, or use it as a plan for the day. Here are some ideas:

  1. Good Morning Basket- Start Valentine’s Day off with their gift by the bedside. Have it filled with some cozy slippers and a robe, cosmetics or new bathroom essentials to start their day, a bag of their favorite coffee, and a new personalized travel mug. Top it off by serving them breakfast in bed while they go through their new goodies.
  1. Date Basket- Instead of planning out your Valentine’s Date together, surprise them with a pre-planned date and all the items to go with it in the basket. Be sure to print out and include any details such as hotel reservations, restaurant gift cards, or event tickets. Include a new outfit to be worn for the date. Throw in a fresh bottle of their favorite cologne or perfume and some after-dinner mints.
  1. Homebody Date Night- Maybe your partner dislikes the crowds on Valentine’s Day or thinks it’s a holiday marketed solely for greeting card sales. This person may rather have a quiet night at home than an evening out with Valentine’s Day crowds. Prep your basket with all the items needed for a fancy home-cooked dinner-minus anything requiring refrigeration, of course. Have a vase of flowers, a crisp white tablecloth, new candles, fancy dinner plates for two, French baguettes, a bottle of wine, and dessert.

The Final Addition

We think adding a brand-new set of Simply Organic Bamboo sheets is the perfect addition to your thoughtful gift basket.  We all love the feel of fresh sheets, and nobody can deny the softness and luxury of bamboo bedding. Besides, what better way is there to end Valentine’s Day than snuggling between buttery soft sheets with the one you love?

Valentine’s Day is a day filled with love and affection. After all, it is the commercial celebration of romance. We hope you enjoy yourselves on Valentine’s Day this year whether you plan breakfast in bed, a dinner out, or anything in between.  Cherish the quality time with the person who means the most to you.
